Our History
As a Michigan-based company, it was almost inevitable that we would create products to fit into Detroit’s automotive industry. Our opportunity came in the 1980s when automotive makers ran into a new issue — keeping plastic in the seats for protection during automotive assembly. We developed a technology that would allow people to slip over the layer of plastic while it gripped the seat underneath. And just like that, Slip-N-Grip® was born. The 2-ply technology was patented in 1986 and took off shortly after in 1989 when we received a contract to manufacture Ford’s OEM seat covers.
Opportunities in the automotive aftermarket quickly followed our OEM business, and we began providing seat covers for service operations. Since then, we’ve designed a full line of plastic products specifically developed for the automotive industry. Today, we continue to lead in quality and service while maintaining the innovative spirit that started it all.
